Last month voters in Ireland overwhelmingly chose to change their constitution becoming the first country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage through popular vote. The ruling meant 14 states would no longer be able to enforce a ban on such marriages. On Friday, the US Supreme Court ruled same-sex marriage was a legal right across the United States.
